the three konohana

Opened in 2013, the three konohana is a contemporary art gallery representing up-and-coming artists working in a diverse array of media. The gallery location, the Baika-Shikanjima area in Konohana-ward, Osaka, is one of the best known art-districts in Japan, and has witnessed an increase in the number of artist-run alternative spaces in recent years. This has been accompanied by a rise in the number of unique activities undertaken by young artists in the area.
Taking advantage of our unique exhibition spaces, consisting of a white cube space and a traditional Japanese-style tatami room, we have organized exhibitions covering a range of activities. These have mainly involved solo exhibitions by gallery artists, but have also included group exhibitions involving curatorial collaborations and projects with guest curators. Our aim is to present outstanding contemporary art works and exhibitions that reflected contemporary society.
