the three konohana

Opened in 2013, the three konohana is a contemporary art gallery representing up-and-coming artists working in a diverse array of media. The gallery location, the Baika-Shikanjima area in Konohana-ward, Osaka, is one of the best known art-districts in Japan, and has witnessed an increase in the number of artist-run alternative spaces in recent years. This has been accompanied by a rise in the number of unique activities undertaken by young artists in the area.
Taking advantage of our unique exhibition spaces, consisting of a white cube space and a traditional Japanese-style tatami room, we have mainly organized solo exhibitions of emerging artists covering a range of activities. Our aim is to present outstanding contemporary art works and exhibitions, considering the relationship between the contemporary society and values of its generation.
