Born in 1977. Studied printmaking at the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art, Kyoto Seika University, and completed graduate school at Aichi Prefectural University of Arts. Focusing on printmaking techniques, he uses a variety of expression methods, including three-dimensional works that transform the surfaces of everyday objects into other materials, and two-dimensional works that use the copperplate process to form continuous drawings.
In recent years, his main focus has been on creating works using existing materials like printing plates. The surface of all things retains its unique material quality, but is engraved with signs of deterioration over time and the actions of humans, as if to record the passage of time. By replacing the original appearance of objects with other materials, it is possible to visualize the marks of time and actions engraved on objects, which cannot be seen with the naked eye.
This time, we will develop works that make the most of the “potential of ruins'' hidden in the industrial heritage site of the former shipyard, where memories, traces, and time of the place are “Peel off printing.
