RYOICHI NAKAMURA (b.1982) moved to Berlin in 2003 (voluntarily dropped out of Tokyo Zokei University) and worked as an artist from 2004-2008. In 2006, he attended Berlin Weissensee School of Art as an auditing student under Katharina Grosse. Since returning to Japan, Nakamura has been based in Tokyo, and spent one year (2015-2016) in the US after receiving a grant from the Pola Art Foundation. Nakamura's work is included in the collection of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

KOKI ARTS
KOKI ARTS opened in 2012, in the Bakurocho area of Tokyo. With the director being a Japanese originally from New York City, KOKI ARTS represents both Japanese and American artists. Aside from introducing artists from the US to Japan (and vice versa), KOKI ARTS focuses on exhibiting artists of all stages in their careers and participates in international art fairs.
