Just as the ancient ideas of “impermanence” and “memento mori” have been handed down from generation to generation, the artist places value on the nature of things that change over time and through process, and that become scratched, rusted, or chipped, and seeks to express these ideas.
By using a unique technique of shattering and reconstructing the formed glass, the glass transmits and reflects light from the missing places, giving the piece a unique texture.
